Facebook Timeline by Kisty Mea

If you haven’t heard about it, let me introduce to you Facebook’s Timeline!
Facebook's timeline seems really interesting. The idea of this whole timeline about your life is such a great way to share things about yourself. Like what Kisty said, it's like your online scrapbook or diary. This concept and how this new layout is constructed looks neat and very organized. Although I'm finding this idea nice, I am not really that in favor of Facebook constantly changing its layouts. For some people, including myself, I get irritated with the changes because it gets really confusing at times and it becomes a hassle to get used to something new again. I'm looking forward to trying this new Facebook Timeline, and hopefully it's a great change. Also, maybe Facebook should try sticking with one layout a little longer, than having changes after every few months.

Photo Essay

The following photos below are pictures that all have light leaks. I chose this theme because I love light leaks, they look beautiful and I think it adds more art in the picture. Other than that, these photos have Creative Commons (CC). It means that only some rights are reserved and I can use these photos, but under certain conditions.

I have listed the photos with these CC in this order:

Purpose of a blog

Blogging can have many different purposes. Today, I'm going to talk about three possible purposes, which are  To Inform, To Persuade and To Entertain.

The first purpose of a blog is to inform. It means that, it is sharing information to the reader. However, informative writing should not contain any opinion or bias. It is only for sharing data.
Here are some links that includes information:
http://weblog.greenpeace.org/
This blog's purpose is to inform because, just like the newspaper, it is presenting information. One of its entries is about a Nuclear Reaction, which is informing us of what is happening in the world today.
http://www.bloglockers.com/
This blog talks about sports and is informing us about the latest news in the world of sports.

The second purpose of a blog is to persuade. From the word persuade, I think we all figured out that it is to PERSUADE you, in other words, it will convince and influence you to think a certain way. They are stating their opinion, and they want you to support their idea as well.
Example of blogs that persuade you:
http://www.eurogamer.net
This blog writes reviews about PC and console games, therefor, I think that this blog persuades readers because it is stating their opinion towards the games. Most of the time, reviews are biased because they can write really negative or positive feedback, and after reading it, it may influence you to think that a product or anything is bad or good.
http://www.engadget.com
Engadget is also another website that writes reviews.

The third purpose of a blog is to entertain. Entertaining doesn't have to be something that makes you happy. It can be anything that creates an emotion. Something that is intriguing to the reader.
Two links that are to entertain are:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/celebrity/
This blog is presenting news or gossips about celebrities, hence, I think that this website's purpose is to entertain people.
http://kimjongillookingatthings.tumblr.com/
This blog is posting photos of the president of North Korea 'looking at things'. I think this blog's purpose is to entertain because it is making fun of the North Korea's leader and others might find this entertaining.

There are many other reasons or purposes of blogs, and these are just three of them. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and feel free to leave a comment!
